Drew Bacon (b. 1988 San Antonio, TX) is an interdisciplinary artist who explores various mediums ranging from collage to animated video installations.  His practice is centered on a ritual of reconstituting archival and found print materials into other artistic forms.  The finished works create new auras and spaces for the original material, probing their cognitive functions and cultural significance.  The experiments and completed works invite viewers to appreciate these object containers from alternative perspectives.  Bacon’s work has been exhibited in solo shows with PazdaButler Gallery, featured in the FOTOFEST biennial, and collected by the Museum of Fine Arts Houston.  His short films have been screened in Film Festivals such as Oaxaca Film Festival and Esto es Para Esto.  He holds a BFA in paintings and drawing with a minor in Art History from Pratt Institute as well as an MFA in experimental animation from California Insitute of the Arts.
